Closing down a WFOE company in Shanghai

A few years ago I set up my own WFOE company while still working at another company, fast-forward to today and I am not using the WFOE and would like to close it down as the cost of maintaining the WFOE is not worth it anymore. I have been quoted some prices for help to close down the WFOE in the right way, others have said they just left it dormant and abandoned it. – I am worried about any future repercussions as I will still be living in Shanghai in the future. Can anyone suggest the cheapest way to close down a WFOE with minimum cost or risk?
