Hi, later this year I’m planning to open a WFOE with a registered capital of 100.000 rmb (planning to work and register in secondary city) and I have a few questions about that. I would like to know if it is possible that equipment that I already bought (computer and other office equipment) before starting the registration process can still count into this 100.000 rmb of registered capital. I would also like to know if there is a difference between a Consulting WFOE, Service WFOE and a Hi-Tech WFOE. The minimum registered capital seems to be the same and my business would fit in all these areas. I’m also planning to work together with a Chinese partner, would it be possible for this Chinese partner to be a shareholder of this WFOE or is that only possible if you open a JV? Thanks for the help, if you have any further questions, please let me know.

Chinese partner can of course be a Shareholder of the WOFE. I don't believe the equipment you've already purchased can be included, unless you get post dated fapiaos. However, i think this is dependent on what type of WOFE it is, and how good a relationship you have with the govt bureau in charge of your district. It's basically at their discretion. Ours we couldn't include those items, but ours was an Alcohol import/distribution WOFE, which is extremely strict.

You should get yourself a business consultant for professional advice and to handle the registration. Even with their help it is not an easy thing to do considering the complexity of the bureaucracy here in China. With the basic questions you are asking here there is no way for you to get moving just but asking questions on the internet.
